Due to rising fuel cost and level funding, Shore Transit has announced several schedule changes to help defray the rising expenses. All routes and bus stops were evaluated to identify duplicate service and bus stops with low usage. Changes were reviewed by the Shore Transit Advisory Board and approved by the Tri-County Council. Changes will become effective on Friday, April 1, 2011 as follows:
Route 701 (formerly route 1), Princess Anne – Crisfield, Saturday Only: Service will be reduced between the hours of 9:30 am and 1:30 pm. Service will still be available during this time but not as often. See the Route 701 Saturday Schedule for bus stop times.
Salisbury Local Routes 121, 141, 151, & 171 (formerly route 22 color routes), Monday through Saturday: The last loop for these Salisbury local routes will begin at 6:30 pm and end for the day at 7:30 pm.
Ocean Pines Plaza, Bus Stop # S252 changed to Call-In Service: Customers needing service from or to the Ocean Pines Plaza Bus Stop will now be able to call the Shore Transit Customer Service Office by 12:00 Noon (443-260-2300, Option #6) the day before their requested pick up and by Friday at 12:00 Noon to receive service on Saturdays and Sundays. All requests made by the appropriate time will be honored. Service will be scheduled in according to the bus stop times as reflected in the Shore Transit schedules for routes 431 and 451. Standard Fixed Route fares will apply.
Updated schedules will be posted at http://www.shoretransit.org/StopsSchedules/Schedules.aspx on Thursday, March 31, 2011.
